Punishment for Politicians

The acting Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon,has been told by the INEC Chairman to punish candidates,politicians and government officials moving around during the elections with private guards.

Jega said one of the reason for the cancellation of election in affected state was because some candidates,politicians and government officials failed to comply with the rules of the general election.

Jega also stated that due to the non compliance of the election rule, the governorship election in Imo and Abia state became inconclusive.

Jega in Abuja made mention all these to the  Acting IGP while congratulating him on his appointment, having remembered how the former IGP had work hand in hand with the commission during the previous election.

As a result of this, the acting IGP has concluded that a new strategy would be taken to tackle the challenges of insecurity faced during the election.
